India today is amongst the fastest growing economies of the world . As  a US$ 1 Trillion economy, India's GDP today is growing at a fantastic rate over 9%. The Manufacturing sector, the services sector and IT-ITES are the key anchors to this growth. India is poised to become the Second Largest Economy in the world after China by 2050.

India today is amongst the foremost economies in the world where fresh investment and large capital outlay is taking place. Along with the creation of a large number of basic and technical jobs it is also creating the need for trained managers to supervise the same.

However, a conflicting picture is shown in the Indian Labour Report, 2007 which says that more than 90% of the youth graduating from India's schools, colleges and postgraduate institutions are unemployable.
